Celebrate Canada Day in Niagara!

 Canada day is marked with fun filled activities across the beautiful Niagara region. It is one of the best times to come visit and one of the best places to come celebrate Canada’s national holiday.  Below is a listing of the various activities being held across the Niagara Region for Canada Day this year:

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, Queen Street. A full day of fun on Sunday July 1st.

While downtown Niagara Falls drop into Taps Brewery for Niagara’s Best WingFest in Support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara Falls

or visit Johnny Rocco’s to hear The Midnight Sons Live. 

Watch fireworks in Queen Victoria Park!

Niagara-on-the-Lake

Celebrate with Friends of Fort George

Admission to Fort George is free on Canada Day!

Special events are planned throughout the day in Niagara-on-the-Lake beginning with a pancake breakfast in Simcoe park.The 41st Regiment Fife and Drum Corps will carry a giant birthday cake down Queen Street to Simcoe Park. Music, muskets and artillery demonstrations in the afternoon are followed in the evening with a BBQ dinner, music and fireworks!

Grimsby

Join us at the Grimsby Museum with FREE ADMISSION on Canada Day. From 11am until 2am there will be family fun-filled activities including bouncy castles, musical entertainment, food, face-painting, games, crafts and more. 6 Murray Street, Grimsby, Ontario L3M 4G5


St. Catharines

Come celebrate Canada’s 151st Birthday with the City of St. Catharines. Join us for fun family activities, live music and other free festivities on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Rennie Park in beautiful Port Dalhousie. Opening – Noon to 4 p.m. Rennie Park – 60 Lakeport Rd. 

The Port Dalhousie Lions Club fireworks will be held at 10:00 pm on Canada Day from Henley Island. Residents can view the fireworks from Jaycee Park or Rennie Park. Residents will not be able to access Henley Island during the fireworks display. A rain date of Monday, July 2nd, 2018 has been set.

Port Colborne

Join the City of Port Colborne for Canada Day for the whole family. Activities begin at 10am with Smudge Fundays, followed by a show by Music and Performance Niagara, national anthem and cake, highland dancers, magic, puppet shows, and mad science, face painting, ponies, live bands, hay rides, bouncy house, birds of prey, food by Country Boys, and fireworks at dusk.


Fort Erie

In collaboration with the Friendship Festival and the Fort Erie Kinsmen Club the City of Fort Erie will be putting on a fireworks display for Canada Day starting at dusk at Lakeshore Road at Beatrice Street. This will be an exciting family show. Tell your friends! Viewing areas along the waterfront from the Peace Bridge to the Old Fort. Show is rain or shine and begins at 10pm sharp. Lakeshore Road will be closed from Beatrice Street to Dominion Road from 8pm-11pm. Start Time: 10:00 PM


Welland

Come watch the Canadian Dragon Boat Championships on July 1st 

Join Welland’s Canada Day celebrations all day long in Merritt Park from 3pm to 10pm with water activities for the whole family. Enjoy paddle boards, pedal boats, canoes, and kayaks ALL FREE ON CANADA DAY at the King Street docks. It doesn’t get any better than WIBIT ON THE WATER! RodeoSplash and Wibit Flip give you the ultimate cool-down experience. IN THE PARK you’ll find: Inflatables, face painting, arts and crafts, Canada Day Cake, Popup in the Park, Vendors and KubKar racing. And ON KING STREET Food trucks and a bike valet. Fireworks begin at 9:50pm

Enjoy Free Concerts on the Canal on the 1st with Pink Floyd Tribute Band Pink Floyd Niagara.


Pelham

Join the City of Pelham for Canada Day this year for House Decorating Competitions, the Canada Day Parade from AK Wigg Elementary School to Harold Black Park. Join us in the Park for further celebrations and fireworks.


Lincoln

Join us for a fun-filled family festival including inflatable bouncers, climbing wall, face-painting, entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show at 10 p.m. Time: 1 – 10 p.m. (Opening ceremonies at 3 p.m.) Location: Charles Daley Park, North Service Rd., Jordan. Thorold

Join the City of Thorold in a community celebration at Battle of Beaverdams Park in downtown Thorold. There will be children’s activities, family friendly fun, entertainment and fireworks!


Wainfleet

Free Community Event, starting with a parade and ending with fireworks! We will have live entertainment, Marshville Village will be open, there will be a FREE BBQ, activities and programs, face painting, a street dance, and kids movie and the band Ear Candy performing.
