November 2017 George's Greek Village Celebrates First Year in St. Catharines A couple looks on in awe as a flaming dish of saganaki arrives at their table, ready to be savoured over a leisurely dinner on an outdoor patio against the backdrop of a gorgeous, early autumn sunset on the Welland Canal. This scene will play out countless times over the evening as guests fill the dining room at George's Greek Village, an authentic Greek restaurant that has fast become a favourite in Niagara.
Any night of the week, the tables here are full, the conversation jubilant and the food delicious. The warm, family-friendly atmosphere, traditional homemade cuisine, and welcoming staff keep hungry customers coming back for more. Owner George Kountourogiannis and his staff are celebrating their one-year anniversary in St.
Catharines. In 2016, Kountourogiannis opened the authentic Greek restaurant located in what was formerly Frado's at 535 Queenston Street, near the Homer Bridge that spans the Welland Canal.
