Photo from Wayne Gretzky Estates black and blue: pottery and poetry by martina doom black and blue is a project born through life's most transformative experiences – love, loss, everything that comes in between and after.

Written over two years, these poems explore the softness of what lingers underneath the surface when we're left to sit with discomfort. Each sculpture is built by hand, coil by coil, and assembled in a spiral motion. This slow and intentional process mimics the pace of digesting our own behavioural patterns and attachment wounds. 🗓 Now until January 17, 2026, at Niagara Artists Centre Go see the exhibit.

Niagara Region: Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to visit for fewer crowds?

Weekday mornings outside peak summer and holiday weekends are typically quieter. Shoulder seasons (late spring and early fall) balance weather and crowd levels.

Do I need a passport to cross the border for viewpoints?

Crossing between Canada and the United States requires valid travel documents. Many experiences stay on one side—check your itinerary before you go.

Are the trails and gorge viewpoints family-friendly?

Many paths are accessible with proper footwear, but some gorge routes include stairs and uneven stone. Review trail notes and posted advisories before heading out.
