Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival Visit the 47th Annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival for a four-day celebration of history and heritage along the Welland Canal, August 1-4.

From fireworks to classic cars, a midway, live music and family fun, there's something for everyone. And, of course, you'll enjoy the tall ships, including the Empire Sandy! Learn more about Canal Days.

Photo from Canal Days Stevensville RAM Rodeo If the rodeo is your vibe, you'll love the Stevensville Ram Rodeo in Fort Erie. From August 1-4, you'll enjoy classic rodeo, including barrel racing, bareback riding, bull riding and more. This year's event also includes vendors and food, daily live music, kids' rodeo and cattle sorting, and more.

Catharines. This family-friendly community event includes drink and food vendors (with lots of ribs, of course), live music and activities including carnival tents, a kids' area and bouncy castles! Come ready for ribs!

Discover how Canada’s oldest printing press helped John Graves Simcoe shape the province of Upper Canada at the Mackenzie Printery during Simcoe Days. During your visit, you’ll get a chance to set the type for a replica of the 1793 Act, right next to the press that originally printed it! Celebrate the Louis Roy Press.

When is the best time to visit for fewer crowds?

Weekday mornings outside peak summer and holiday weekends are typically quieter. Shoulder seasons (late spring and early fall) balance weather and crowd levels.

Do I need a passport to cross the border for viewpoints?

Crossing between Canada and the United States requires valid travel documents. Many experiences stay on one side—check your itinerary before you go.

Are the trails and gorge viewpoints family-friendly?

Many paths are accessible with proper footwear, but some gorge routes include stairs and uneven stone. Review trail notes and posted advisories before heading out.
