There are many events happening locally for the solar eclipse on April 8. To celebrate the rare celestial, here’s a list of fun activities to take part in!

Queen Victoria Park

At Queen Victoria Park on April 8, 2024, the Niagara Symphony Orchestra is playing a prelude to the total solar eclipse. Their performance kicks off a full day of entertainment, capping off with Ontario’s own The Glorious Sons at 8:30 PM. The Boneheads, New Friends and JJ Wilde are also performing.

Solar Eclipse in the Vineyard

Reif Estate Winery is hosting Solar Eclipse in the Vineyard. They’re toasting with their bubbly “The Stars” with lunch in the garden and live music featuring The Feverish Lemons. The event is from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM and tickets are required.

Mobile Planetarium at the Power Station

Astronomy in Action is bringing their mobile planetarium and educators for hands-on, immersive learning about the solar system and the significance of the solar eclipse to the Niagara Parks Power Station April 5-8, 2024.

Mad Science and Canadian Space Agency

Family-friendly FunStations and Exploration Stations with Mad Science are at the Table Rock Centre April 6-8, 2024. Kids of all ages can take part in fun and interactive workshops and activities. Plus, representatives from the Canadian Space Agency will be on-hand to talk about what to expect during the eclipse!
