April 2024 Niagara Falls Celebrates the Upcoming Solar Eclipse The Niagara region is the best place in Canada to view the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. We’re experiencing a total eclipse as Niagara is in the path of totality! The eclipse will start at 2:04 PM and last until approximately 4:30 PM.
The total eclipse will start between approximately 3:18 PM and 3:20 PM and last for a few minutes. Don’t forget your ISO-approved eclipse glasses to safely enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience! Catharines Standard has put together a list of the best viewing sites to watch the eclipse.

Catharines Standard Solar Eclipse Activities: There are many events happening locally for the solar eclipse on April 8. To celebrate the rare celestial, here’s a list of fun activities to take part in! Queen Victoria Park At Queen Victoria Park on April 8, 2024, the Niagara Symphony Orchestra is playing a prelude to the total solar eclipse.
Their performance kicks off a full day of entertainment, capping off with Ontario’s own The Glorious Sons at 8:30 PM. The Boneheads, New Friends and JJ Wilde are also performing. Photo from Niagara Tourism Solar Eclipse in the Vineyard Reif Estate Winery is hosting Solar Eclipse in the Vineyard.
They’re toasting with their bubbly “The Stars” with lunch in the garden and live music featuring The Feverish Lemons. The event is from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM and tickets are required.
