Destination Niagara Falls News - April 2017


 Video marketing is helping to transform how Niagara’s tourism industry reaches its audience. 


With summer coming, all eyes will be on Niagara as the region’s top restaurants, accommodations providers, wineries, attractions and more prepare for millions of visitors. What better time to get your business in front of millions of potential customers?

A joint effort saw Destination Niagara Falls and “info-tainment” website Niagara Buzz launch a partnership in June 2016 to help tourism businesses engage their online audiences through video marketing (you can watch that video here.). The project has since spurred five successful videos for Niagara businesses, including: Pranzo Ristorante, George’s Greek Village, Spyce Lounge, Watermark Fallsview Restaurant and Greater Toronto Airways. Each of the videos has received more than 1,000 views on YouTube, with Greater Toronto Airways topping the list at the most popular with 2,364 views:

The campaign’s success mirrors the undeniable impact video marketing has had on how businesses tell their stories and reach their audiences. Video marketing has exploded over the past decade, and has been proven to increase visibility, build trust and generate more sales.

- One-third of all online activity is spent watching video
- 80% of users recall a video ad they viewed in the past 30 days
- Enjoyment of video ads increase purchase intent by 97% and brand association by 139%
- 36% of online consumers trust video ads
- YouTube reports mobile video consumption rises 100& every year
