The generator hall inside the Niagara Parks Power Station

Meet in Niagara: Rooms Your Delegates Have Not Sat In Before

Eight venues that are not ballrooms, one conference centre that is, and a waterfall you can light in your own colours.

Every destination sends planners a capacity chart. Ours is further down this page, because it is not the reason to bring your delegates here.

The reason is that in Niagara you can put eight hundred people inside a decommissioned generating station, or three thousand in a garden theatre a few minutes from the falls, and then have the falls themselves lit in your organisation’s colours while everyone is standing there looking at them.

That last part is not an upgrade. Niagara Parks includes it.

Rooms your delegates have not sat in before

Niagara Parks runs eight event venues along the Parkway, and between them they cover a range most convention centres cannot manage on their own.

The Power Station is the one that changes the conversation. It is a generating station left largely as it was found, and an evening in there does not need a theme, a set, or a lighting designer with ambitions. The building does the work.

The part no other destination can offer

Niagara Parks offers planners a list of things that are difficult to find anywhere else, and most of them do not appear on a floor plan.

Custom illumination of the falls in corporate or association colours, complimentary. Complimentary linens for private events. Menus built with their chefs around your dietary requirements and your budget. Door-to-door pick-up. WEGO transit at conference rates. Group rates on attractions and passes. Guided tours with personal interpreters. And, if your delegates are that sort of delegate, full golf tournament management.

When the programme does need a ballroom

Sometimes the programme needs a ballroom, a loading dock and five hundred people in classroom seating, and no amount of scenery substitutes for that.

The Parkway Conference Centre in St. Catharines is 22,708 square feet across eleven spaces, from a 391 square foot boardroom to a 12,832 square foot ballroom. It seats 900 for a banquet, 500 classroom, and takes 1,200 for a reception. There is a glass atrium for pre-function and tradeshows, and loading docks and ramps for the exhibitions that need them.

The connected Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites has 181 rooms, and Heart of Niagara runs three hotels around the centre, which means room blocks are one conversation rather than three. St. Catharines also sits between Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake and wine country, so the offsite options are in every direction rather than one.

Their team building runs to laser tag, bowling, scavenger hunts and winemaker dinners, which covers a wider spread of delegate than most single venues manage.

What we do for you

We work with planners at no cost. Site visits, proposals pulled together across venues and hotels rather than one at a time, and introductions to the operators who will actually deliver your offsite.

Tell us the dates, the numbers and what the programme has to achieve. We will come back with options rather than a brochure.

Niagara Region: Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to visit for fewer crowds?

Weekday mornings outside peak summer and holiday weekends are typically quieter. Shoulder seasons (late spring and early fall) balance weather and crowd levels.

Do I need a passport to cross the border for viewpoints?

Crossing between Canada and the United States requires valid travel documents. Many experiences stay on one side—check your itinerary before you go.

Are the trails and gorge viewpoints family-friendly?

Many paths are accessible with proper footwear, but some gorge routes include stairs and uneven stone. Review trail notes and posted advisories before heading out.
